Welcome back my dears! Today I have some more Polish Pickup awesomeness for you! Before we jump to the swatches, I'll give those of you who are new to PPU a quick low down on what it is.
The Polish Pickup is a new approach to monthly indie polish subscription boxes. Each month, members submit theme ideas and then vote on the top 10 themes. The winning theme is then used by the makers to choose their inspiration for their polish and/or bath and body products. There are as many as 70 polish makers each month. The best part, you can pick and choose which polishes you'd like to purchase, and every order ships for only $3. It's like a make your own sub box!
The winning theme for March is Books, and I have the privilege of swatching KBShimmer's contribution, If You Want My Bodice. (I dare you to not read that to the tune of Da Ya Think I'm Sexy!) Christy chose the "bodice ripping" cover of a romance novel as her inspiration.
If You Want My Bodice
If You Want My Bodice is a super shifty beauty. Described as a blend of multichrome pigments that shifts from a cool minty teal to a deep lavender or deeper magenta and blue depending on the brightness of the light, with flecks of unicorn flakes shifting in a rainbow of colors, and holo micro flakes that add the perfect amount of sparkle. Photos do not do this polish any justice! The minty teal was a little harder to catch in photos, but shows up beautifully in person. The shifts are effortless and unending. Formula is flawless and application was effortless. Swatches show two coats plus Clearly On Top glossy top coat, but I got nearly fully opaque coverage with just one coat.
This polish is seriously a stunner. If you love multi chromes, you definitely need this beauty! I will admit I had a lot of fun playing with the shifts in all different lighting. The unicorn flakes may be my favorite part though, they add the perfect touch!
March's Polish Pickup dates will be March 2-5. If You Want My Bodice will be available for $10.00. Submissions for the next round of themes open the Monday before launch, so have your ideas ready! Voting will begin on launch day and run until Sunday.
