This collection is an add on to her previous release, a pastel purple jelly named don't be jelly. The rest of the pastelly jellies create a rainbow of squishy goodness that is to die for! I can't wait to share these with you, so let's get to it!
wiggly watermelon
First up is wiggly watermelon. A pastel pink that is just as sweet as a juicy watermelon! This color is definitely a favorite of mine. As with all jelly polishes, more coats are needed for full opacity. For this color I was able to achieve full opacity in just 3 coats. One coat of Love, Angeline Topped With Love glossy top coat smoothed everything out and made it shiny and squishy!
orange squish
Next up is orange squish. This color reminds me of a Dreamsicle pop, which is perfect for summer! This pastel orange jelly was a surprise love of mine, as I'm not an orange lover normally. I used 4 coats for this swatch to achieve this opacity. While this number seems high to some, it's really not considering this is a jelly. You can always do less coats, or even add an undie. Again, Topped With Love smoothed and shined it all up!
Next we have bounce around. A squishy pastel yellow that is just too cute! Reminds me of those vanilla pudding pack I had as a kid, haha. If you know me, you know yellow isn't one of my go to colors. This polish may change that! In this swatch I used 3 coats to achieved the desired opacity. I love how sweet and delicate this looks. I used Topped With Love to smooth everything and shine it up!
Next up is electric jiggle. A delicious pastel green that can lean minty in some lights. I love this color! I know, it's green, but I love it!! Reminds me of spearmint gum! I used 4 coats for this swatch. Again, a typical amount of coats for jellies. Finished with Topped With Love for shiny, squishy goodness!
Last up we have shimmy shake. A beautiful pastel blue that reminds me of a clear summer sky. This is also a favorite of mine. I see myself using this beauty a lot! For this swatch I used 4 coats as well. One coat of Topped With Love makes this one squishy and shiny mani!
Now let's quickly talk about the elephant in the room. I'm sure y'all are thinking "what? 4 coats to achieve opacity? Ain't nobody got time for that!" But remember, jellies are by definition sheerer polishes, so for a many that shows zero or minimal visible nail line you will need more coats. Alternatively, you can add a white undie to cut down on the amount of coats needed. I do recommend a good smoothing or ridge filling base coat, as finishes like this tend to accentuate ridges and such on the nail. The formula on all the polishes was buttery and easy as pie to work with. Not as thick as some jellies, which I liked a lot. Stay tuned for upcoming posts with some nail art using these pretties!
This collection will be available in the DDNP store this Friday, June 24th at 12:00 pm EST. The whole collection, including the purple don't be jelly, will be sold for $50 including shipping. You don't want to miss this collection!! It's fantastic!!
Thanks for joining me today! Until next time my lovelies!
xoxo
