Hey! Welcome back! It's been awhile and I've missed you all dearly. Things got a little crazy for me, but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. Today I have some really amazing polishes to share with you!
If you're a fan of holo polishes like I am, then you're most likely a member of the Hella Holo Customs group on Facebook. If not, you really should be! Each month they feature two amazing makers who create gorgeous holo polishes inspired by images submitted by group members. This month, one of the makers is the wonderful Christy of KBShimmer Nail Polish, and I have the amazing opportunity to swatch the three gorgeous customs she created! So lets take a look at the beauties she created.
That Goes Without Cyan
First up is a gorgeous aqua blue with strong linear holo, and gold and copper flecks throughout. Based off a gorgeous sunrise over clear water, That Goes Without Cyan is a stunner. I love how strong the holo is, and the copper and gold flecks add a little something extra when in lower light. The formula is super buttery and smooth, really easy to work with. The polish dries to a shiny but not really glossy finish. Fully opaque in two coats. Swatches show two medium thin coats plus KBShimmer Clearly On Top glossy top coat.
Pinking of Paradise
Up next is a girly pink jelly like polish with holo flakes and a gorgeous turquoise shimmer. I really enjoy flakes in polishes, as it gives it a different sort of look than regular glitter. Based off an image of the sun setting in a pink sky as the waves crash on the beach, Pinking of Paradise is my favorite of the trio. The contrasting shimmer is just a perfect touch to me. The formula is great, zero issues with application. Polish dries to a shiny like finish. Mostly opaque in two thin coats, thicker coats may be needed for longer nails. Swatches show three thin coats plus Clearly On Top glossy top coat.
One Holo-of a Storm
Last, but not least, is a gorgeous vibrant blue with holo glitters for lots of sparkle, and pink shimmer flakes. Based off a picture of pink lightning flashing across a blue stormy sky, One Holo-of a Storm is a sparkly treasure. The flashes of pink shimmer perfectly mimic flashes of lightning. Formula is great and easy to work with. Polish dries to a semi textured finish, but smooths out with top coat. Fully opaque in two coats. Swatches show two coats plus Clearly On Top glossy top coat.
So there you have it, the three KBShimmer HHC August exclusives! All three polishes are fantastic and full of sparkle. The formulas for all are great, classic KBShimmer consistency. I was able to remove all of them with ease. I think each are great interpretations of each inspiration pic.
