Born Pretty Store Items Review

TGIF my polished lovelies!! Hope you had a fantastic week! Mine was chaotic to say the least, but I'm very excited to bring you my first Born Pretty Store product review!! I was sent 3 items to use and review.

The items I received were a 'Watermarbling Comb'(item #20690) '3D Ocean Nail Decor' (item #21578), and 'Sheet Nail Vinyls' (item #20782). For this review I created two different looks using these items. So let's get to it!

My initial impressions are positive. The watermarbling comb tool is lightweight and looks easy to use. The nail decorations come in two different colors, gold and silver. There are twelve slots with 8 different designs, offering a good variety to use depending on the color scheme of your design. The nail vinyls look well cut and there are more than enough to do a full mani using each design, with two extra in case of a mistake.

The first product I used was the watermarbling comb. To create the design, I first chose two coordinating polishes. Then, on a plastic sheet I painted semi thick lines of alternating colors. I then took the comb and lightly pulled it through the polish lines, creating the flower petal watermarble look.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to peel this design off of the plastic and had to create another design. I used the same technique, but pulled the comb through the polish in both directions. Tip for making things easier- do a base of clear polish or top coat to make peeling off the design easy. I personally would use this when I had and extended time to do a mani, as it takes time to let each layer dry. Using this tool takes some practice. You need both the right thickness of polish on your surface, and the right amount of pressure applied when pulling the teeth through the polish. I look forward to practicing more and creating more fun watermarble looks without the watermarbling mess.

I have to say I absolutely love the nail decorations. I am partial to the ocean and mermaid theme, so this item truly was a delight to use. The charms are small, but still large enough to see details. A great variety to choose from to create a beautiful ocean or mermaid themed mani. For this mani I chose to use three seashell charms. I dabbed three thick drops of top coat onto my nail and then placed the charms on with my tweezers. Super easy to use!

And now, the moment you've been waiting for! The finished product!
For this mani I used 'Dat Bass' and 'Double D Shells' from In The Name Of Polish's 'Milly the Mermaid' collection. I also used Lou it Yourself 'Mermaid Scales Stencils'. I love the look the "watermarble" and charms give this mani!
One last look at my super cute mani!

The last item up for review is the nail vinyls. I love the designs on these. I don't have the steady hand to paint the lines to do the checkerboard look, so these are a huge life saver! Unfortunately, these were a little skinny for my nails. I have rather long and wide nail beds, so the stencil was too short both horizontally and vertically. To get around this I used them on a slant, and this helped a lot. I only had to fill in one or two squares on each nail. While using the vinyl, I did experience some tearing. The vinyls popped at the corners of the squares while trying to adjust the vinyl on my nail, as well as when I attempted to remove it from my nail after applying the polish. Thankfully, neither instance of tearing effected the outcome of the design, as I was able to use my tweezers to adjust the vinyl pieces. All in all, a decent vinyl and a good alternative to others on the market.

Here is the mani I created using these vinyls:
For this mani I used 'Mystery Holo #5' by Love, Angeline and 'Yuko 3000' by Signet Nails. I love the fun but classic look to these nails.
