Great Lakes Lacquer March 2018 Polish Pickup

Hello my lovelies and happy Monday! I've missed you all! Today I have some new and exciting things for you. If you're not familiar with the Polish Pickup, you're missing out on some serious polish amazingness! If you are familiar with it, you can skip this part and go straight to the swatches.

The Polish Pickup is a new approach to monthly indie polish subscription boxes. Each month, members submit theme ideas and then vote on the top 10 themes. The winning theme is then used by the makers to choose their inspiration for their polish and/or bath and body products. There are as many as 70 polish makers each month. The best part, you can pick and choose which polishes you'd like to purchase, and every order ships for only $3. It's like a make your own sub box!

This month's theme is Books and I have the privilege to swatch Great Lakes Lacquer's contribution. The book Mariah chose is Stephen King's Wizard and Glass, the 4th book in the Dark Tower Series.

Time Is A Face On The Water

Time Is A Face On The Water is described as a metallic sky blue multichrome holographic with strong shifts from lavender and pink to orange and green. To me the color pulls a bit more periwinkle than sky blue, but beautiful nonetheless. The holo is very strong, sparkling in all types and levels of light. The lavender and pink shifts are the strongest for me, however in lower light I am able to pull the green shift despite being unable to capture it on camera. The formula is superb, super smooth and easy to work with. Each coat applies like a dream. The first coat appears to apply somewhat sheer, but it quickly and easily builds up nicely. Swatches show 3 coats, however I had mostly complete opacity with 2 coats.

I really loved this polish. The lavender and pink shift against the periwinkle blue is just amazing. This is definitely one of those polishes where you just can't help but sit and stare at your nails all day. 

March's Polish Pickup dates will be March 2-5. Time Is A Face On The Water will be available for $12.50 with no cap. Submissions for the next round of themes open the Monday before launch, so have your ideas ready! Voting will begin on launch day and run until Sunday.
